They say time flies when you're having fun! Jake is 4 months old today!
Wow...I look at him when he's asleep sometimes and can vividly see the image of the day he was delivered into this world! Time certainly does fly!

Remember I complained (on more than one occasion) about Jake crying with no apparent reason and nothing consoles him? Well...turns out...he's been trying to communicate with us but we didn't understand him. He has been crying because he is hungry!
The problem is, it never occurred to us because we were following doctors orders.
Jake cannot drink as much milk or fluids as other healthy 4 month old babies. The reason is because of his heart and lung condition, they can't risk him taking in too much fluid, aspirating which could result in the fluid building up around his heart. He is currently taking medication to help pass urine frequently for this exact reason. So, of course, when we follow our given feeding schedule, we assume he is satisfied. We noted he cries this way around the same time everyday and blamed colic. At least now we are a peaceful family and Jake is such a pleasure to care for!

Please pray for Jake to be strong enough to come off the oxygen machine SOON! He hates the nasal cannula invading his face, and because of this, we need to wrap him up in sheets, etc. to make sure his arms are tied. The minute he moves his arms, it goes straight to his face to scratch and pull the tubing and wakes him up immediately. This is why, as you can see from the picture below, he has to be wrapped up tight!

Pray pray pray! Jake will soon be ready to live his life like a normal little boy! :)
